The Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG 1 Low has never shied away from experimenting beyond its original styles from 1985. And while past iterations have drawn inspiration from seemingly random places, spaces and things, a newly-surfaced pair ostensibly draws from a 13-year-old collaboration between Brand Jordan and Levi’s.

For starters, denim takes covers the pair’s base, peeking out at the toe box, mid-foot and just above the profile swooshes; tongues also follow suit. Whereas the joint-effort from 2008 (and even a recent Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG 1 Mid “Denim”) boasted a light wash, the upcoming Jordans opt for a darker indigo. Leather overlays across the upper further carry out the deep blue mission, while stitching and sidewall logos deviate in a “Sesame”-reminiscent color. The same tone takes over the collar, outsole and “Wings” insignia on the heel. Lastly, a rich shade of red complements the profile swooshes and branding on the tongue.
