The MetaSpeed Edge’s curved sole design helps to reduce ankle flexion, which allows runners to conserve more energy and run further. The ASICSGRIP™ outsole is grippy to handle twists and turns (as well as wet pavement) on race day. This shoe is stable, with a lower stack height and firmer cushion than other carbon-plated shoes, which makes it great for 5K to half marathons, particularly if they have a lot of twists and turns.

The upper is light, breathable and a bit stiff, so you can get a good lockdown feel and run those corners with ease. This shoe fits a bit narrower and shorter than other asics 80s shoes, so if you are in between sizes, you may want to get a half size larger.
