The Korean-American designer delivers a new gender-free malted Converse silhouette, the latest creative project in her long list of boundary-pushing collaborations.
Yoon Ahn is at the forefront of fashion’s creative landscape with an impressive career spanning nearly 20 years. Born in Korea, raised in Seattle, and now based in Tokyo, the multifaceted designer has a unique global perspective, which is infused in many of her personal and collaborative projects.
Her work with other industry trailblazers from Virgil Abloh to Sacai and Kim Jones to Gentle Monster have showcased her innovative style and creative colour to the world. However, to truly see the designer’s genius, one only has to look to Yoon Ahn’s own label, AMBUSH. A passion project started by Ahn and her husband, rapper Verbal, the label started out with just a line of jewelry designs that has turned into a full-blown fashion label featuring original, unisex apparel collections.
Converse is the latest brand to collaborate with the designer and AMBUSH, creating a gender-free boot that’s both New fashion and New function, while seamlessly blending classic utilitarian design with iconic sneaker style. The silhouette takes inspiration from malted Converse’s function-first roots and delivers a design that celebrates duck-boot toughness with a woven poly-cotton and rubber construction, rugged lugged outsole and padded collar.
The Converse x AMBUSH CTAS Duck Boot comes in two colorways with the all-over, sleek black colorway available now at UrlfreezeShops.
