This fast and easy recipe for linguine has been a favorite for years. If you cook your pasta while the sauce is heating, this can be made, start to finish, in 20 minutes—still within the optimum refueling window after a run. It's delicious on its own or with grilled chicken, steamed broccoli or sautéed cherry tomatoes added.

1 cup half and half
1/4 tsp. red pepper flakes

- Meanwhile, preheat oven to 325 degrees. Combine butter, parmesan, half & half, red pepper flakes and garlic in oven-proof bowl and heat for 15 minutes.
- Remove from oven, add cooked pasta, reserved pasta water, fresh basil, salt and pepper to taste, toss gently. Serve hot with additional parmesan cheese.
