Runner’s World Review
This women's-only shoe has a detached upper that floats freely at the arch. While it gives the shoe a stylish appearance and many wearers are likely to sport it casually, the shoe delivers big performance. The design of the stretchy knit lets the shoe hug your foot like a sock yet still delivers a stable ride—it's tacked to the midsole at the heel and forefoot. The extra-soft layer of Boost provides comfort for longer runs than our testers found previously in the thinner, more minimal PureBoost X. "These shoes are super comfortable—I'd wear them all the time, but I save them for running," says Jennifer Messimer, Research Chief at Men's Health magazine. "They don't come with the normal 'break-in' period I've experienced with other shoes—no blisters, no hot spots. And even for longer runs, they expand with your foot if you are prone to any kind of swelling once your foot 'warms up.'"

We put each shoe through real-world usage and a battery of mechanical tests in our lab to provide you with objective — and exclusive — data. In addition to a shoe's weight, we measure sole thickness (everything that sits between your foot and the road), how well the foam cushions your stride, and the flexibility of the forefoot. All this is taken into account in our reviews of each shoe.
