Runner’s World Review
Ranking better on every feature by our wear-testers, the updated Vomero is a super versatile shoe with plenty of cushioning to handle a lot of miles, but it is also firm enough to be a legit go-fast shoe for many athletes.
Wear-testers specifically noted how roomy and “not narrow” the Nike Vomero felt, with space in the toe box, which increased overall comfort. They liked the fit of this version better than its predecessor.
Nike knit the forefoot with a stronger material so it can use less to achieve the same hold, for a very small weight reduction (0.3 oz), and enhanced breathability.
Moderate | 8.9 mm.
Also new to this version: The collar and tongue are softer for comfort, and the rubber on the sole is more durable for improved wear.

We put each shoe through real-world usage and a battery of mechanical tests in our lab to provide you with objective — and exclusive — data. In addition to a shoe's weight, we measure sole thickness (everything that sits between your foot and the road), how well the foam cushions your stride, and the flexibility of the forefoot. All this is taken into account in our reviews of each shoe.
