Nike’s collaboration with Virgil Abloh’s Off-White label continues apace, with a new low-top, black-and-white Air Force 1 dropping Wednesday. Like the recent Off-White Zoom Fly, this new shoe is part of the brand’s The 10 line, which first launched in 2017 to re-envision some of Nike’s most popular styles.
Unlike the speed-oriented Zoom Fly, the Air Force One is a straight-up casual sneaker, though the two share some style features used across all of Abloh’s high-end streetwear line, like a stitched-on swoosh and industrial design elements. The shoe also has a deconstructed upper made from ripstop fabric, with leather overlays and taped seams. Other Abloh signatures include the word “AIR” in quotes in the midsole, the word “SHOELACES” exactly where you’d imagine, and a light blue zip tie to add a little mystery and industrial flair.
A long-time favorite of sneakerheads everywhere, the Air Force One celebrated its 35th anniversary last year and has been released in dozens of iterations and styles leading up to this Abloh version. And although long-distance running in them is ill-advised, they’re still used for both street and professional basketball play, so you can definitely sprint across the court in a pair.
Get the the Off-White™ x clearance nike Air Force 1 “Black” on Wednesday, December 19, from clearance nike.com and other retailers for $169. The shoe is also available in a hi-vis VOLT colorway.
