I put this shirt through an early morning treadmill session, an afternoon hike, and chilly bike ride. The one downside I noticed when I wore the shirt to run indoors was that since the material is so thick, at some points, I felt warmer than I would’ve liked. The opposite was true when I wore this top for my hike and on my ride.
I wore it for each of these workouts completely unwashed from the previous activity and rounded out my testing by wearing it to go grocery shopping. I loved that it didn’t outright stink while I was loading up my cart—but it most definitely wasn’t the freshest piece of clothing I was wearing.
Surprisingly, the shirt really didn’t get to the point where it smelled gross—even the underarm area stayed relatively fresh. I only noticed a little bit of funk when I wore it on my grocery outing—something I was surprised by, considering it had previously been through very sweaty workouts. If stinky gear has always been a problem for you, this shirt will make a huge difference.

The Henerala is made of Matahari, an optimal poly/spandex blend offering some stretch but not so much that the shirt loses shape. Matahari is easy to maintain and washes well with other garments but takes a while to dry. This is likely due to the fact that the fabric is on the heavier side. I especially loved that the Matahari fabric offers UPF 35 protection and supreme sweat-wicking.
