Running with music: We love it, and we know plenty of others love it. One problem many runners encounter, however, is a lack of situational awareness that comes with covering their ears. One could fail to hear oncoming traffic, for example—not ideal if you’re crossing the road. Luckily, Shokz offers a remedy for the issue in a pair of headphones that conducts sound through the bones in your head rather than plugging your ears. It’s called the OpenRun Pro, and it’s $55 off following Amazon Prime Day.

Sales & Deals Prime members looking to knock some big items off their wishlists this summer. Though the sale ended on July 17, this site-wide sale offered steep deals on everything from shoes to headphones to watches, and many of them have stuck around for the remainder of the week (or, potentially, even longer).

To be clear, plenty of Amazon’s deals aren’t worth your time—they’re either unsubstantial price cuts or they’re products we haven’t tested or wouldn’t recommend. That said, the OpenRun Pro’s current discount deserves special attention, because it’s our testers’ pick We may earn commission from links on this page, but we only recommend products we back running headphones. Additionally, if you’re looking for other lingering discounted gear we recommend, we’ve waded through the sea of sales to find everything worth your time and collected it on this page.

What do we love about Shokz’s OpenRuns? The easy answer is the brand’s innovative design that circumvents your ears, but there’s more to them than that. First and foremost, we found them surprisingly comfortable on runs up to marathon distance (even while we were wearing glasses), which was an initial concern of ours when we started testing them. It helps that the points of contact with our skin didn’t irritate us, and it’s also nice that these headphones weigh only an ounce.

If you tend to sweat heavily, you’ll appreciate that these headphones have an IP55 water-resistance rating, which gives you ample protection against your own sweat or the elements. We also got a 10-hour battery life out of ours after only 30 minutes of charging, meaning you can get a solid week of training in without worrying about how much juice you have left.

We’re uncertain how long this deal will last now that Prime Day is over, so time is of the essence. We strongly recommend giving this deal a look, as we haven’t seen a price cut this big on the OpenRun Pros all year.
