We hit the trail to test the Merrell MTL Long Sky 2 Matryx. Just like its progenitor, the MTL Long Sky 2, the Matryx version has a 5mm drop and 4mm lugs on sticky Vibram Megagrip outsole. RW wear-testers liked its light weight and responsiveness, which can be attributed to its FloatPro foam midsole. What separates the MTL Long Sky 2 Matryx from the original model is the upper. Shimmery Kevlar-polyamide threads act as a protective, abrasion-resistant layer over your foot.
