Kipchoge came closest, running 2:00:25, followed by Tadese in 2:06:51 and Desisa in 2:14:10.
Kipchoge’s time, though faster than Dennis Kimetto’s world record of 2:02:57, isn’t a record because the race didn’t meet stipulations set by the International Association of Athletics Federations.
