She may be “unbreakable” on television, but Ellie Kemper was barely in one piece when it came to finishing the New York City Marathon CA Notice at Collection.

The actress, known for her roles in “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt” and “The Office,” recently spoke to Rachael Ray which painted a much different picture.

Kemper said that while she trained for three months in England during filming for “The Great American Baking Show,” she quickly realized that was not enough time to be sufficiently prepared for the event. “People train for marathons for, like, half a year,” she explained over a video call on the show.

“It’s psychotic,” Kemper said in response to the host’s surprise at the amount of prep time. “I completed the marathon,” she said, noting that it was not as fun as it looked on the internet.

Major Changes Hit Northern Arizona Elite her Instagram, which painted a much different picture.

“Yesterday was insane on every level, and I am REJUVENATED by the strength and grit of NYC,” she said in the photo's caption, seemingly showing her no worse for wear.

“Those pictures are misleading,” she said, referring to the post-race snaps. “I did not sprint through the streets of New York City,” she admitted.

“I think it was the end of the day, and I was just so relieved it was over,” she added, laughing.

“I texted my sister during the thing, ‘This is the worst day of my life,’” adding that her personal pride was what helped her finish the race. “I must complete this because I don’t want to not finish. I walked a lot.”

and detailed her race day woes to the TV host Australian Sprinter, 16, Runs Record-Breaking 200m, Races - Places.

"Some of us Marathoners are fueled by hope…..some by a dream….but me?" Kemper captioned a post on Instagram before the race. “My engine runs on COLD HARD CASH. Consider a donation to @brosis512 and help me fly (briskly walk?) across the boroughs Nov 6th!!!" she joked in the caption.

Kemper finished her grueling marathon day with a time of 5:17:39—not bad for three months of training. Kemper is entered in the Brooklyn Half, a 13.1 miler set for May 20, so here’s hoping Kemper enjoys her time on the streets of NYC a bit more this time.
