The Experience
Head out in the early evening on this one-mile segment of Glacier Point Road in Yosemite National Park, and you’ll get to witness the granite face of Half Dome changing from yellow to orange to red as the sun sets—all while coasting 3,214 feet above the Yosemite Valley. “It’s one of the most scenic stretches you will ever run,” Andrew says. “I try not to repeat traveling places, but I will continue to come back here forever.”

Cool Off
Recover in the Merced River—just a short drive down into the valley. “Given that it’s safe and isn’t gushing, it’s a refreshing spot to jump in and relax,” Andrew says.

Local Fare
Take in the view of Yosemite Falls—a 2,425-foot drop—while chowing down on a locally sourced meal at The Mountain Room Restaurant at Yosemite Valley Lodge.
