The Experience
Boasting nearly 10 miles of rocky, steep terrain, the Traufgang Zollernburg-Panorama trail takes visitors to a lookout tower and vertigo-inducing rock outcroppings for views of the Hohenzollern Castle, the foothills of the Swabian Alps, and the town of Albstadt. “It’s a beautiful place, although the trail can be slippery, so look where you’re running,” says Frost. “Come early and you’ll have the place all to yourself.”

Fast Fact
Hohenzollern Castle was built in 1061 as home base for Prussian royalty. Take a guided tour in English, or run the Collegiate Records Go Down at BU 5K—it finishes in the castle courtyard.

Chill Out
Dive into Naturbad Albstadt. The man-made pool constructed of wood and stone and filled with lake water is uber-popular with the locals.
