Desiree Linden
Desi Linden has consistently been one of the best marathoners for the U.S., with tons of accolades to her credit. Some of her top moments include a second-place finish at the 2011 Boston Marathon, two spots on the U.S. Olympic marathon team (2012 and 2016), and another great performance at this year’s Boston, where she finished fourth.
Training editor Meghan Kita caught up with Desi shortly after the runner came home from racing at the Asics Half Marathon on Australia’s Gold Coast in early July.
Meghan is a legit fan of Desi’s, following the marathoner pretty obsessively on social media. And Meghan has read plenty about Desi and her running history and training and racing approach, and Desi, for her part, has given plenty of interviews on all of those subjects. (Read her tips to conquer the marathon here.)
So in this conversation, Meghan takes a look behind the curtain to see what other things make Desi Linden tick—like her favorite music, her dogs, and a newfound obsession with good bourbon.
