The mechanical midsole of the Prophecy remains largely the same from the last version—two plastic plates are joined together along the length of the shoe to deliver cushioning instead of traditional foam. Mizuno added an upgraded layer of their premium foam, called U4icX, underneath the sockliner to boost comfort. Our wear-testers report that the shoe sits tall and is heavy, but provides long-run comfort.
