Improved cushioning along with a new bootie construction give the Ride 7 The Editors of Runners World.
The “bouncy” feel that many of our wear-testers cited is no surprise. The Ride 7 features a lighter foam, which our lab tests found to be one of the softest of the shoes we tested this season. Our wear-testers said the ride and comfort improved from the last version as well. What suffered? The flexibility, which dropped drastically, making it one of the stiffest shoes here.

Insider tip: The shoe is finished under the sock liner, so if the Ride fits snug, you can remove the liner and run right on what’s called the strobel board. This gives runners with bigger feet some extra room.
