Giants Head Marathon, Dorset

Saturday 28th June

The race organisers label this as ‘a very very challenging race’ so prepare for a somewhat hilly but nonetheless beautiful course. It’ll take runners through the Sydling and Cerne valleys running around and under the famous Cerne Giant. Post event celebrations involve a beer tent and a hog roast; this may just be worth your while.

of the best Half Ironman triathlons in Europe

This is the first year of this event. It’s not for the faint hearted with 27 or 36 mile distance options. It’ll take racers along the River Severn between Ironbridge and Bridgnorth. The race involves an out and back route with each lap being nine miles across a disused railway, scenery is stunning but you’ll need a strong will to keep at the laps.
