Epson have broken into the running market with the launch of a brand new watch range. Runsense is a range of GPS sports watches with up to 30 hours of battery life.
The range also has a smart stride sensor for Runsense that measures stride length and pitch while also learning an individual’s running technique. Using a unique algorithm, the device correlates the power and frequency of body and arm oscillation with GPS data. If the GPS signal is lost during exercise, this technology is used to replace the missing data, delivering accurate pace and distance measurements.
In addition to these features the Runsense devices has four customisable screens that can provide up to 35 different measurements, including time elapsed, distance, pace, laps, intervals, speed, calories burned and many more. The device links to the free online training app Run Connect.
Alongside the launch of the GPS watch, Epson have also released a new activity trackers, Pulsense. A range of wearable heart rate activity monitors. This monitors your activity over 24 hours including, optical heart rate sensor and accelerometer to accurately monitor heart rate, activity levels, calorie burn and sleep patterns.
The device is able to track steps, distance, calories, sleep quality and heart rate across five zones, and even show how state of mind is affecting the user’s heart rate. Additionally, wearers can also use the sleep phase alarm to wake up at the optimal time according to their sleep patterns.
