The number Strava presented are in no way infallible; any shoe worn by less than 100 athletes wasn't included so popularity plays a role in what you see, plus the Next% was captured by looking at the model name for any Nike brand shoes, whether it contains the word "next", however there is not denying the numbers suggest a considerable performance benefit from the Nike shoes to the next, most popular shoe.
Another interesting take away is the side by side between average min/mile pace between the NEXT% and Vaporlfy. Again, the pace is calculated from a different number of runners but it does show that the NEXT% runners were on average 10 seconds faster per mile, from 7:07 min/mile to 6:57 min/mile (equal to a median time of 3:06:25 and 3:02:14 respectively).
