Where else would a sloth, a gigantic Shokz headset, and a bead station be in the same room? At The Running Event in Austin, Texas, where the expo floor was alive with all the above — and the latest running gear, too.
However, I had no time to meet up with my slower friend this year (sorry, Mr. Sloth). Instead, I spent time with shoe companies to bring you this massive list of upcoming releases. Scroll to find your future favorites.

Adidas
Supernova 2
November (2024)
Adidas reps noted my 'it’s a little tight in the forefoot' comment at the 2023 Runner’s World Shoe Summit when I gave feedback on the first Supernova. The second version has an improved fit (you’re welcome), a cleaner silhouette, and reduced tongue.
Adizero Adios Pro 4
December (2024)
The Pro 4 takes elements from the brand’s Pro Evo 1. Lightstrike Pro foam delivers more energy return and Adidas moved the rocker back to 60 percent the length of the shoe (67 percent in the Pro 3), which requires less force during turnover.
Adizero Evo SL
March
If you weren’t able to snag the Evo SL during its limited release in October, you can get your hands on a pair this spring. The training counterpart to the Pro Evo 1 has more tongue and collar padding as well more Continental rubber on the outsole for better durability.
Altra
Lone Peak 9
Beyoncés IVY PARK And adidas To Drop A White Gum UltraBOOST OG Soon | December (2024)
The ninth version of Altra’s most popular trail shoe is updated with the brand’s original footshape for a more accommodating fit.
Torin 8
February
An everyday trainer built for high mileage on the road, the Torin 8’s Ego Max midsole is remixed for a softer, more lightweight ride.
Experience Wild 2
May
The second version of Altra’s first non-zero drop trail shoe (it has a 4mm offset) keeps the original’s winning formula: the same compression-molded EVA foam and MaxTrac outsole. The main change is the upper, which Altra streamlined for a sleeker design.
Experience Flow 2
June
Following the Experience Wild 2 release is its road counterpart, the Experience Flow 2. The shoe introduces EgoP35 midsole, which delivers a more responsive and more cushioned ride. The new jacquard upper has monofilament windows for more breathability.
Paradigm 8
July
Like the Torin 8, the Paradigm also has an updated Ego Max midsole. Its fit is more in line with the Paradigm 6, which had Altra’s wider 'classic fit'.
Olympus 275
July
In homage to brand lore, the Olympus 275 name refers to the temperature that Altra founders 'baked' shoes in an oven to melt glue and create the Olympus prototype. A Matryx upper shaves off weight and creates an abrasion resistant layer on the trail. A sock-like scree sleeve around the heel eliminates the need for a gaiter.
Asics
Novablast 5
December (2024)
Unchanged: 41.5mm heel and 33.5mm forefoot; trampoline pod in forefoot. Updated: new full-length FF Blast midsole for a softer, bouncier ride; lighter, more breathable jacquard upper.

January
The 'high-cushioned hero' from Asics gets an extra 2mm of stack height for even more plushness while still remaining the same weight as the Gel-Nimbus 26.
Brooks
Launch 11

The bargain buy speed shoe gets switched up with full length DNA Flash foam as a carrier; DNA Flash v2 serves as a softer drop-in foam to inspire both a cushioned ride with high rebound.
Caldera 8
Beyoncés IVY PARK And adidas To Drop A White Gum UltraBOOST OG Soon | January
The Caldera 8 continues to have a nitrogen-infused DNA Loft v3 midsole with a tall stack height for protection on the trail. The upper is updated with improved breathability, quick-dry mesh, and a heel pull tab.

Glycerin 22 & Glycerin 22 Stealthfit

The Glycerin 22 is revamped following the Glycerin Max, with the same DNATuned foam—yet it sticks with the same 38/28mm stack height. A Stealthfit version with a knit upper will also be released.
Ghost 17
May
The Ghost 17 has the same nitrogen-infused DNA Loft v3 foam. Midfoot strikers will appreciate an additional 3mm of foam in the forefoot (1mm in the heel). The Ghost 16 had a 12mm drop, but the 17 is lowered to 10mm.
Hyperion Max 3
July
A daily trainer with super shoe DNA, the Hyperion Max 3 has the same DNA Gold midsole as the Hyperion Elite 4 PB as its top layer of foam. The bottom layer is DNA Flash v2. Its nylon-fiberglass plate is more pliant for added stability.
Hyperion 3
July
The Hyperion 3 is pumped up with 4mm more cushioning (2mm each in the sockliner and midsole). It’s upper is lighter and more breathable.

Adrenaline GTS 25
November
The Adrenaline GTS’s silver anniversary brings an extra 3mm in the forefoot and 1m in the heel (just like the Ghost 17). The guide rails are now moulded into the midsole instead of a separate component to eliminate glue. You’ll recognise Stealthfit detailing with the flat knit heel collar.
Hoka
Bondi 9
February
You could say the Bondi 8 was 'billowy'; the newest version has a sleeker design — but it’s still lots of shoe. It has a supercritical EVA midsole and new heel collar.
Cielo X1 2
February
For those who wanted more ground contact, Hoka filled in the sole cutout on the lateral side. A new upper saves weight. The full PEBA midsole paired with the carbon plate makes the shoe tuned for even more aggressive racing.
Clifton 10
April
Nicknamed the ClifTEN by the Hoka team, this runner-favourite has a new last for a refined fit. The extended toe box means no rub on the pinky toe. There’s also 3mm more cushioning in the heel, which translates to an 8mm offset (formerly 5mm).
Mafate X
May
The Mafate was the first Hoka created which is why this shoe is decked out with Easter eggs. Example: The outsole tread has pizzas and tacos.
Mach X 3
September
We loved the Mach X 2 because of its mega-bounce. The third version has a new warp knit upper and more plush tongue.
Merrell
MTL Adapt
May
This Merrell shoe is made to weather the trail with a Matryx upper pinstriped with kevlar threads to create an abrasion-resistant shield. The dual-density midsole is more resilient and a Vibram Megagrip outsole is Leadville-worthy.
Pro Morph
July
A good entry shoe for new trail runners, the Pro Morph has a less aggressive tread suited for transitioning from road to gravel. It’s moderately-cushioned midsole allows more ground feel so you’re not totally disconnected with the earth while you run.
Mizuno
*Though we are allowed to share photos and some info, Mizuno asked us not to reveal its upcoming releases’ names. Honouring Mizuno’s confidentiality, we refer to the models as Mystery Shoes 01 thru 04, as the brand presented them at TRE.

'Mystery Shoe 03'
July
This shoe is the next iteration of a popular model. We’ll give you these hints: the shoe is softer than the previous version; it now has a 10mm offset (previously 12mm); it’s a tease for the next iteration — so get excited for more to come.
'Mystery Shoe 04'
August
Beyoncés IVY PARK And adidas To Drop A White Gum UltraBOOST OG Soon.

This classic shoe continues delivering max cushioning for everyday efforts. It has a top layer of ZoomX foam and bottom layer of ReactX. The shoe is 6mm taller, too.

February
The Vectiv Enduris is made for everyday training and racing. It has a nitrogen-infused TPU midsole.
Vectiv Pro 3
February
This unisex-size, road-to-trail super shoe has a dual-plate system; the first plate is for torsional rigidity on the trail and propulsion, and the second plate helps with stability. The shoe is 4mm higher and is intended for Western States-type terrain.
Sky 2
February
Also a unisex-size shoe, the Sky 2 is for 'shorter distances' (a rep said the sweet spot is 50K to 50 miles). It’s lighter than the previous model, has 5mm lugs, and is closer to the ground for agility.
Infinite 3
February
The shoe has a nitro-infused TPU midsole like the Vectiv Pro 3, along with a TPU plate for propulsion. It’s in the mid-stack range at 30mm in the heel and 24mm in the forefoot.

adidas adiZero Rose 2 Black Black-Black.

On eliminated its external Speedboard, which was noisy on stones. The foam is softer and has more stability through improved geometry.
Cloudboom Max
August
Three years ago, On set out to build a shoe for all runners. The Cloudboom Max is this shoe. It has a full-length Pebax midsole and a more flexible, forgiving glassfibre-infused Speedboard.
Puma
Fast-RB Nitro Elite
January
This upper has laces. The rest of the shoe has the same tooling as the previous release: three plates with foam broken up into pods. Puma wanted to push the limits of footwear creating the Fast-RB. We think they succeeded.
Deviate Nitro Elite Trail
March
Following in the steps of other footwear brands, Puma trail-ified its super shoe. The Deviate Nitro Elite Trail has the same foam as the Deviate Elite 3 as well as a carbon-composite plate. The outsole has 3mm lugs.
Salomon
S/Lab Ultra Glide
February
The Salomon team refers to this model as the first S/Lab trail shoe for front-to-back of pack runners. At 41/35mm, the shoe is stacked with PEBA-based energyFOAM+ and EVA-based energyFOAM. The Relieve Sphere reveals concave circles on the outsole where pressure points are located on the bottom of the foot.
Aero Glide 3
March
The Aero Glide 3 introduces new midsole foam, energyFOAM Evo, which is 100-percent TPU. The shoe is completely seamless inside for maximum comfort.
Aero Glide 3 Grvl

Everything you love about the Aero Glide with a reinforced upper for protection. The shoe delivers softness and pop as well as reliable traction off road with 3mm lugs.
S/Lab Pulsar 4
June
Cushioned with energyFOAM+ and original energyFOAM, the S/Lab Pulsar is a beefed up, shorter-distance racing shoe.
Saucony
Endorphin Elite 2
March
The Endorphin Elite was a racing favourite on our staff (I myself raced in the shoes at a local half last year; I finished second woman). The second iteration shows a major makeover. PEBA is replaced with Incredirun, a co-polymer elastomer foam, for a softer and lighter feel. It’s also more responsive.
Triumph 23
June
Saucony’s softest daily trainer now has a Pwrrun PB blend midsole for even more comfort. It also has a slightly wider heel and midfoot.
Hurricane 25
July
The take-it-as-you-need-it max-cushioned stability shoe is also lighter and softer like its neutral counterpart, the Triumph 23. There’s more foam on the medial side for more support.
Endorphin Speed 5
July
The Endorphin Speed 5 doesn’t change much from the previous model. It has the same Speedroll tech with a slightly tweaked nylon plate for torsional rigidity. The rubber on the heel is brought out to the edge for more durability.
Scarpa
Spin Ultra
Spring
Designed for stability on the trail, the shoe has responsive supercritical foam, a toe protector, and 3mm lugs.
Under Armour
Infinite Mega
June
Under Armour partnered with Speedland on this ultra shoe built for the road. Two Boa dials provide a snug fit that’s easy to tighten midrun.
Infinite Elite 2
June
A full ounce lighter, UA reps coined this 'the mileage monster'. It’s ultra plush and is wider under the heel and forefoot.
