50 celebrities you didn’t know were marathon runners

The next time you’re chasing down a marathon PB, keep an eye out for a few of these famous faces, who might well be running alongside you. Check out the celebrity marathon runners who might be in your pace group here:

Pippa Middleton, 3:56:33

The younger sister of Kate Middleton herself, Pippa is often remembered for her bridesmaid duties rather than running performances.

That said, she often completes marathons in exotic locations and her PB and first marathon was the Safaricom Marathon in Kenya, where she finished in 3:56:33 – the seventh overall female.

More recently, Middleton completed the 2016 Great Wall Marathon in China, finishing with a time of 4:54:51 and a position as the 13th fastest female.

Nell McAndrew, 2:54:39

Model and TV Presenter Nell McAndrew has run the London Marathon seven times, with a PB of 2:54:39 in the 2012 race. McAndrew took part in the 2019 London Marathon, crossing the line in 3:15:08.

Kirsty is a sports and news presenter who worked for Sky Sports News for 20 years. She ran the 2019 London Marathon for the SafeHands for Mothers charity. After crossing the finish line Gallacher said, 'I’m elated – in a very painful way. It’s going to take some time to sink in; it’s been tough, really tough.'

Natalie Cassidy, 5:27:44

she was selected to represent her country in the over-50’s women’s team EastEnders team who ran the 2019 London Marathon for Dementia Revolution, in support of Barbara Windsor. At the finish line, Cassidy said, 'What an amazing run. I don’t know how I got through the last mile – it felt like I had three miles left.'

Sophie Raworth, 3:27:01

BBC Newsreader Sophie Raworth has run all six World Marathon Majors, completed 15 marathons and three ultra marathons, including the Marathon des Sables. She has a marathon PB of 3:27:01. More recently, she was selected to represent her country in the over-50’s women’s team Runner’s World US.

Jake Wood, 5:59:19

Jake has played the part of Max Branning in EastEnders since 2006. Away from Albert Square, he reached the semifinals of the 2014 edition of Strictly Come Dancing.

After crossing the line of the 2019 London Marathon, Wood told reporters, 'This is a grimace you see on my face, but it’s a very delighted grimace. I’m happy to have finished and I’m happy with the time.'

Despite dropping out after 10K of the 2018 London Marathon, Katie Price, aka Jordan, was helped across the line of the 2009 race by her then husband Peter Andre. She later told OK magazine that she sadly suffered a miscarriage whilst running the marathon.

Double Olympic gold medallist, Cracknell frequently takes part in events out of the water in aid of charity. He’s taken part in the South Pole Race and a 1,400 mile journey from the UK to Africa running, rowing and cycling. His fastest marathon time was at the 2017 London Marathon.

Former Top Gear host, Evans completed his fourth London Marathon in 2018. His best time of 4:41:06 was in the 2017 race.

Evans took place in last year's London Marathon, finishing with a time of 4:48:33. At the finish line, Evans said, 'Today was great, the crowds were massive this year all the way. The weather was perfect, a little bit of wind, a little bit of rain, which was welcomed and I’ve never done more selfies in my life.'

This radio and TV presenter has completed the London Marathon a whopping seven times. Her best time was in the 2015 race. Her 2019 London Marathon time was 3:58:17. Falconer said, 'I wanted to go so much faster, I think I ran a 3:58, my personal best is 3:31. It was perfect conditions and there was great camaraderie; it was another amazing experience.'

The former world number one tennis player, Caroline Wozniacki, finished the New York City Marathon in 2014, in an impressive time of 3:26:33.

Aged 36, Dormer is best known for playing Margaery Tyrell on the HBO series Game of Thrones. Running the 2016 London Marathon in 3:51:21, Dormer said: 'I’m a tiny bit peeved', running 24 seconds slower than her first marathon in 2014, where she crossed the line in 3:50:57.

As if the challenge of one marathon wasn’t enough, in 2009 Izzard ran 43 marathons in 51 days after just five weeks of training for Sports Relief. He recorded his best time of 5:00:30 on his last marathon, completing a 1,100-mile journey around Britain.
