Q: We may earn commission from links on this page, but we only recommend products we back chafing under my breasts. I am a 32DD and have tried the Champion Action Shape bra in addition to a couple of other brands. Other than the chafing, I love the bras that I have. Should I keep searching for another bra or would some sort of lubricant solve the problem?

A: Dear Jenn:
Whether they are a 36A or a 32DD, many women have problems with chafing under their breasts. It isn’t always easy to find a great running bra in sizes above C, so if you are happy with the bras you have and they are offering you sufficient support, I would not recommend that you try to find another in an effort to prevent chafing. You are right in assuming that a lubricant is the answer to the chafing dilemma. There are many effective brands on the market, including Runners Lube, Body Glide (goes on like deodorant and comes in a version with sunscreen), Squeaky Cheeks Powder, Blister Shield, and Hydropel. You can also try old school remedies like Vaseline or Aquafor.

Because I have always had a problem with chafing, both around the outlines of my running bras and under my arms, I keep a tube of Vaseline lip balm in the key pocket of my shorts and reapply when necessary, especially on long runs.
