Stephen Curry has made a name for himself and is already arguably the best shooter in NBA history, and the Barcel part is he’s just getting warmed up.
The success of Curry’s game has help Under Armour’s Step Curry sneakers sales, so much so, that analysts at Morgan Stanley are predicting that the Curry sneaker line will sell $160 million worth of sneakers this year, Lite out LeBron James’ Nike LeBrons that are projected at $150 million. Check out the chart below of Steph Curry LeBron James sneaker sales.
“UA’s signature Stephen Curry basketball shoe US business is already bigger than LeBron, Kobe and every other player except Michael Jordan,” Morgan Stanley analysts wrote. “Curry basketball footwear sales have meaningfully accelerated over the last two months and are now trending at a $160M annual sales run rate.”
On a side newest to Morgan Stanley’s reports is the fact that he doesn’t factor in direct-to-consumer sales that come from brand-owned stores like Niketown, Nike.com, UA.com etc. So there is some info missing from his claims.
