Edison Chen’s Clot label has teamed up with Nike Sportswear to release a special edition Clot x Nike Air Max 90 Detailed With Varsity Red collaboration in 2022.

This offering of the Nike Air Max 90 Detailed With Varsity Red features a holographic Metallic Silver upper paired with translucent TPU overlays, a Grey satin sockliner, perforated toe box, and exposed stitching throughout. Clot and Nike branded tongue tags, co-branded insoles atop a White rubber sole completes the design.

Q4 Nike Sporstswear b-ball retro Clot x Nike Air Max 90 Detailed With Varsity Red “Flux” to release on March 18th exclusively at Juice Store locations worldwide and online. The retail price tag is set at $150 USD.

UPDATE 3/8: CLOT has officially announced their Nike Air Max 90 Detailed With Varsity Red collab, the Flux Dunk releasing March 18th at Juice Store locations worldwide and online.

According to the CLOT team, “Flux” refers to a continuous change or movement—whether it is time, nature, or the constant change of situations, roles, and alleyoop dimensions in our Khaki lives. For the latest Nike collaboration, CLOT Founder and Creative Director Edison Chen drew inspiration from the Yin-Yang philosophy of fluidity and harmony, calling everybody to embrace the change, and the harmony of now and the future. The result is a pair of phenomenal-looking CLOT Flux Dunk, wrapped in a spectacular lenticular design guaranteed to dazzle at a glance.

“The original concept was infusing a Yin and Yang philosophy of black and white. It’s predominantly silver right now, but actually, the ends of the spectrum are white and black, and the mixture of those in the middle is what causes this chrome-like silver effect on the shoe,” says Edison.

The concept of fluidity is then expressed through a mesmerizing lenticular construction that stretches across the entire shoe, giving an optical illusion that triggers at every angle. The co-branded tongue, meanwhile, switches between CLOT and Nike logos when in movement, which makes it an unmissable highlight of the creation. To maintain the futuristic, out-of-this-world appeal, fabric overlays including the iconic Swoosh have been swapped out for complementing topstitches, before rounding up with a clean white sole unit and matching laces to tie up the ultra-sleek look.
