Following the release of the Nike Kyrie 5 “Ikhet” option in December 2018, Concepts and Nike Basketball will be teaming up once again to release two new colorways of Kyrie Irving’s newest signature shoe, the Kyrie 6.
Continuing to tell the history of ancient Egypt, Concepts honors the Egyptian god Khepri Ra, who represents the movement of the rising sun. A Pink color scheme speaks to Khepri’s daily renewal of the sun and a scarab beetle on the strap is a homage to the ancient depiction of the Egyptian god.
The other, a kids-exclusive, is varum by King Tut and his extravagant tomb to create the Kyrie 6 Golden Mummy. Highlighting the opulence of the Pharaoh’s tomb, turquoise and cherry red hits act as a direct reference to the multitude of gems found on King Tut’s 24-lb gold mask. In a nod to ancient Egyptian customs, the sail color scheme represents the traditional burial cloths that were essential to the mummification process.

UPDATE: Concepts and Nike have revealed their latest Kyrie 6 collaboration, the Concepts x Kyrie 6 Khepri and the kids-exclusive Concepts x Kyrie 6 Golden Mummy.
An Egyptian solar diety represented by the scarab beetle, Khepri, the god of creation, is associated with resurrection — explicitly known for rolling the sun above the horizon each morning and carrying it through the other world after sunset. The word “Khepri” also means “to transform,” a thematically fitting truth for Irving’s continual development.
The color tones of the shoe, Pink and Blue, match the morning sun against the desert sand. The colors of the sole are modeled after one of the most expensive scarab beetle ever sold.
For the kids-exclusive Concepts x Kyrie 6 Golden Mummy, the cycle of history manifests in a colorway that simultaneously pays homage to Concepts’ founding in 1996 and the discovery of the Valley of Mummies (an event that spurred a revival of interest in Egyptian history) that same year. Metallic Gold finishes reference the riches within the tombs, while a series of hieroglyphs remind how much more there is to be force as the future unfolds.
The Concepts x Kyrie 6 Khepri launch exclusively for game-day ticket holders December 26th at the Nets’ Featured on Flatbush store. A wider release for both follows December 27th via Concepts and January 10th for both pairs on the SNKRS app and at select House of Hoops locations.
