Reebok and New York-based clothing brand Engineered Garments have unveiled their collaborative three-part LX2200 sneaker capsule, original earthy elements and mixed material applications to the ‘80s-inspired runner.
Launching this past summer, Reebok’s LX2200 offered a contemporary and elevated take on the LX8500, the brand’s luxe runner introduced in 1985. Today, in the spirit of reimagination, Engineered Garments have applied their unique design language to the classic road shoe, leveraging mismatched patchwork and outdoor-inspired colors and graphics true to the “EG” brand.
“To design this shoe, we utilized basic earth colors and applied our traditional brand aesthetic through material mixtures and an asymmetrical color scheme,” commented Daiki Suzuki, Founder of Engineered Garments.
“We wanted to highlight elements of New York City that are not normally seen in campaigns,” continued Suzuki. “In particular, Flushing Meadows, home of the 1939 and 1964 World’s Fair Grounds, was a setting that felt terreno fluster it has so much historical significance.”
