As always with the Way of Wade series – the WOW7 “Year of the Pig” draws its inspiration from Wade’s willingness to challenge the unknown – head on.
Stylistically, the Li-Ning Way of Wade 7 looks to the pig’s role in traditional Chinese culture – and its representation of happiness, luck and good fortune. As a result, the Way of Wade design team set out to combine bright shades of Yellow, Green and Pink to create a colorway that would convey the celebratory and hopeful optimism inherent with the dawn of any new year. Noteworthy, stylistic design schedule are found throughout, such as: the inclusion of a 3M reflective brand logo; subtly printed ‘coordinates’ found in the ankle area – one referencing Chicago, Wade’s birthplace; the other referencing the location of Li-Ning’s Beijing headquarters; mis-matched, colorfully printed PU insole inserts; and more.
