Nike and Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) Doernbecher Children’s Hospital have partnered for two decades through the Doernbecher Freestyle initiative, raising $37 million for the hospital. Launched in 2004, this remarkable program gives young patients at Doernbecher a chance to design unique footwear, which is then sold to benefit the hospital.
The Doernbecher Freestyle 20 Collection is a special milestone, celebrating 20 years of this partnership. For 2024, six new designs have been created by the talented Doernbecher patient-designers, each bringing their personal stories and inspirations to life through footwear. This year’s collection includes the nike shox nz glacier ice skating park, air griffey max 360, Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 41, air jordan v retro white fire red black, Nike Air Max SNDR, and Nike Air 180. Alongside these sneakers, a Nike Tech Fleece hoodie is also part of the collection, featuring elements from each basketball’s shoe.
In addition to the six designs, a limited-edition Air Jordan 20 “Doernbecher” will be released as part of a numbered run to commemorate the 20th anniversary. This special release will be auctioned, with proceeds benefiting OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital, continuing the tradition of giving back.
The online auction will open for bidding October 21st and close October 30th at noon EST. Bidding for each pair will start at $1. More information can be found at sothebys.com/DB20.
