18 August 2023Distilling HAL STUDIOS’ maximal minimalism to its core, ASICS offer up their third collaboration with the Australian outfit.
Following up on their inaugural collaborations earlier this year, ASICS and the Highs & Lows sub-label HAL STUDIOS link-up for a third time, taking aim at the Japanese footwear brand’s Gel-1130 silhouette again with a low-key Birch colourway.
Elevating the 1130 sneaker with a sophisticated material make-up, this running style offers an ode to ASICS’ ninth iteration of the Gel-1000 series style. Combining hairy suede overlays across breathable mesh uppers, the silhouette continues the trilogy’s core inspiration – the natural world. Utilising a blend of light tones, the latest style draws influence from the otherworldly aesthetic of glaciers to cultivate an icy look punctuated with brown leather accents and a striking red trail lace, designed to resemble a climbing safety rope. Embodying HAL’s ethos of “Design Thinking”, the final movement of the collaboration captures the essence of the two brands to deliver a striking yet eminently wearable sneaker.
