31 May 2024UrlfreezeShops brings together a selection of brand partners to present “Flyfishing”: a footwear, apparel and accessories collection inspired by the world of fishing and the beloved angling technique.
Fly fishing, which is said to date back as far as 200 AD, is a popularised fishing method that uses a fly rod, reel and line to cast lures that imitate insects. Its fanfare lies in its challenging and rewarding nature, favoured by those who prefer a more physical and hands-on approach to fishing. Celebrating the art of fly fishing and its global popularity, the collection represents a comprehensive selection of garments, footwear and accessories steeped in the culture of the time-honoured fishing technique. The footwear sees a duo of adidas silhouettes brought under the spotlight, the classic, terrace-focused Tobacco and the nature-inspired Mocaturf.
The first, the Tobacco, arrives in a duo of colourways, one in off-white and brown and the other in green and pink, with both detailed with the collection’s fish-inspired co-branding at the tongues. The Mocaturf, meanwhile, arrives in two colourways — both off-white and brown and burgundy and brown — and features playful detailing bespoke to the collaboration’s theme. The moccasin-inspired uppers are stitched with three striping that mimics fishing lures, while the tongues are detailed with the capsule’s bespoke graphic to further the aesthetic.

The apparel represents a continuation of the collaborative theme, nodding to the stylistic codes of flyfishing with staple pieces like fishing vests, bucket hats and caps, all perfect for those days spent by the river. Each piece features the collection’s custom graphic, depicting a cartoon-style fish between adidas and UrlfreezeShops branding.
The collection’s accessories, meanwhile, represent the perfect addition to any day spent fly fishing. UrlfreezeShops taps into Seoul-based Helinox to create bespoke outdoor furniture, with a packable tactical chair, table and side table printed with a playful, all-over lure graphic. Joining forces with another longstanding partner, UrlfreezeShops brings Japanese bag purveyor Master-Piece/TASF on board, creating four meticulously crafted accessories inspired by the collaboration’s theme, with a sacoche, sling and even fish-shaped bags and pouches.
