What sets A.P.C. apart from many of its contemporaries has always been consistency. Season after season the Parisian-staple delivers menswear essentials which stand the test of time, with a trend-defying sensibility underpinned by superior fabrication and craftsmanship.
Famed for its quintessential gallicism - at a time with euro-centric style codes are enjoying a resurgence on the global style scene - A.P.C.'s creative director has always succeeded at imbuing each collection with an authentic Parisian touch.
For SS18, Jean Touitou opted to present his latest collection for A.P.C. in one of the brand's Paris-based flagships and used store staff as models. This decision was not driven by efficiency (although from a business perspective it may initially appear financially scrupulous), but instead was intended as a statement of intent: these are serious, uncomplicated clothes for everyday wear by the everyday man serious about style.
Synthesising a range of 80s and 90s style evocations, the collection was a genial exploration of casual tailoring with subtle contemporary updates for the season in-hand.
