First Look at the new Thames x Fred Perry Collaboration

Celebrating the quintessential Britishness of both brands

Drawing inspiration from classic school uniforms and vintage sportswear, Fred Perry and Thames return with a fresh capsule collection which celebrates transgenerational Britishness, repackaged for the youth of today.

Long adopted as the uniform of British subcultures, Fred Perry's partnership with Blondey McCoy's Thames is a well-conceived exploration of British culture shone through a sporting lens.

Marking Blondey's first expedition into the realm of womenswear, the capsule includes tennis skirts and cricket jumpers alongside a range of his internationally revered menswear. Opting to explore styles and silhouettes traditionally associated with the British upper-class, Blondey's treatment this season is emblematic whirligig of cultural and societal references which piece together to create an irreverent meditation on Britishness at home and abroad.

I want to see people skating and getting dirty in clothes that have such upper-class implications...it’s taking that clobber off the court and into the carpark that interests me.

Heading to Swansea with a selection of close friends to shoot the collection's lookbook, McCoy was inspired by the Dylan Thomas poem "Sometimes The Sky's Too Bright". Professed as his second biggest Swansean hero - with the gold medal going to his girlfriend - McCoy headed to one of the poets favourite cafes for the shoot before heading to a games arcade and the seaside; a celebration of the classic British summertime locations and activities.

The latest Thames x Fred Perry collection will launch at UrlfreezeShops on March 16th.
