Artek Alvar Aalto 1933 Stool 60Colouring Green & Yellow

Applying his signature ColoRing surface treatment to one of Artek’s beloved classics, Japanese designer Jo Nagasaka presents this fresh green and yellow Stool 60. Made as part of the brand’s ongoing Finland and Japan Friendship Collection, the iconic piece of furniture is upgraded using a combination of traditional techniques, named Udukuri and Tsugaru-nuri. Soft-grained pinewood is used as surface veneer, the softer parts of the wood are removed, filled with coloured lacquer, and then sanded to reveal a pleasing irregular pattern that's totally unique.
