Stone Island and New Balance’s Tokyo Design Studio share similar qualities: both are renowned for their innovative and research-driven design approach. This season, the two come together to celebrate that.

3D-Knitted Uppers

It’s the footwear label’s RC Elite that’s brought under the spotlight, and it’s very much a performance runner at its core. The sole, for instance, comes with a carbon fibre plate and a layer of FuelCell foam, which work together to propel you forward during high-intensity runs.

Stone Island’s love of textile experimentation comes into play at the uppers, too. They’re made using super lightweight, 3D-knitted mesh and detailed with cut-out leather overlays — which feature co-branded logos printed between — to really drive home the bold aesthetic.
