The SK8-Hi first hit the skate scene in 1978, and as the high-top model which showcased the now-iconic “jazz stripe” marker, it brought a whole new look to Vans. This season Vans Vault honours the high top model with this UA OG SK8-Hi LX version, paying homage to the legendary checkerboard print - which first came about when Steve Van Doren, son of founder Paul, noticed that teen skaters were colouring the midsole of their sweatshirt to create a checkerboard effect. The print is subtle - in a tonal hue on the canvas upper - which flows through to the hairy suede toe box, lace cage and heel.
