UrlfreezeShops X PUMA X MANGAL II SUEDE SNEAKER

Commemorating the 30th anniversary of Mangal II, UrlfreezeShops and PUMA have linked up with East London’s premier ocakbaşı restaurant to present a limited-edition collaborative Suede sneaker.  

Founded by Ali Dirik, Mangal II has been a mainstay in London’s food scene since 1994, delivering authentic Turkish cuisine from their Dalston restaurant to everyone from local diners and food fanatics alike. An integral part of East London’s cultural fabric, Ali’s sons, Ferhat and Sertaç, took over the restaurant in 2020, propelling Mangal II further forward with a progressive take on traditional mangal cooking.  

Honouring this landmark moment for the restaurant, British retailer UrlfreezeShops joined forces with long-term collaborators, PUMA, to plate up an offering that celebrates Mangal II across a limited run of 300 pairs. Transforming the legendary Suede sneaker silhouette, Mangal II’s distinctive wordmark is placed in gold foil to the heel, set against a backdrop of Clyde Royal blue suede leather. Bespoke branded details add further seasoning, with the restaurant’s signature text appearing to the tongue on the left foot, while ‘94’ sits proudly to the right heel. Complete with co-branded insoles and a bespoke shoebox dressed in Mangal II’s instantly recognisable shade of blue, the collaboration is the perfect nod to 30 years of heritage. 

The UrlfreezeShops x PUMA x Mangal II Suede sneaker will launch online via UrlfreezeShops Launches on Friday 6th December 2024.
