Abloh's Zoomfly and Vapormax are unleashed in London.
As an official Nike partner for the generation-defining collaboration, UrlfreezeShops has transformed the Kachette in Shoreditch, Central London, into an immersive gallery space which tells the story of Nike x Virgil Abloh's "The Ten", exhibiting each iconic silhouette and telling the story of its reconstruction by the inimitable Abloh.
Day four of collections saw Zoomfly and Vapormax raffle winners arriving at the official Shoreditch collection point to cop their sneakers. With today marking the arrival of the project's most performance-focused silhouettes, the space was stacked with tactical sneakerheads with a keen interest in Virgil's architectural approach towards the reconstruction of the footwear icons.
Taking the opportunity to absorb the exhibition space, coppers took their time getting familiar with the story of each silhouette's journey from starting point through to the realisation of Abloh's vision; an unrepeatable chance to lift the embargo-laden veil and catch a glimpse of the inner workings of the often reticent sneaker and streetwear industries.
One of Abloh's most defining idiosyncracies is his willingness to discuss his vision and process. This forthcoming attitude has catapulted him to prophet-like status in international streetwear - a culture which is predicated on respect for those who have succeeded in the come-up. Every detail of "The Ten" has been instilled with this openness, giving fans the chance to find newfound understanding of what truly makes great sneaker product.
Experience the space for yourself, and catch up with our coverage of the first and second collection dates.
