adidas passion A-ZX ZX8000 'Vieux Lyon'Metallic Silver & Purple
So far, adidas’ AZ-X range has celebrated all manner of retail partners, sports teams and past collaborators. The swiss release of 2021, however, shines a spotlight on classic craftsmanship techniques. It’s a ZX 8000 named ‘Vieux Lyon’ after the French district where jacquard weaving was invented, over 150 years before the runner’s ‘80s debut. Two types of opulently patterned fabric form the upper — one violet, the other pale grey — but it’s business as usual elsewhere, from neon-trimmed three stripes and translucent heel counters, to that all-important Torsion tech underfoot.
