Unveiling their second collaboration for SS19, Tokyo-based streetwear outfit, have a good time, and adidas Originals find harmonious common ground between the bold optimism of the Japanese upstarts and the 90s output of the German sportswear giant. The result is a graphics-heavy capsule collection comprised of leisurely apparel, rounded off with new takes on two classic footwear silhouettes.
Framing both logos side by side, the classic adidas trefoil shares equal billing with the framed have a good time logo, presented here with a new blue border for SS19. The logos appear across a range of apparel including a short-sleeved t-shirt with taped three-stripes details and a game jersey inspired by the soccer apparel of the 1990s. Elsewhere, the two logos can be found on a pair of velour track pants and matching track top. A middle-gauge knitted sweatshirt also appears in a colourway inspired by the instantly-recognizable clear blue of Argentina’s football team. The front of the knit features a jacquard trefoil, while the reverse features a jacquard rendering of this season's have a good time logo.
In the footwear stakes, have a good time make their mark on two very different styles; each with their own long-lasting cultural heritage. First up, the superstar, which imprints the shell-toed basketball shoe synonymous with Run DMC and 80s street culture with the have a good time message. The same enthusiastic approach is applied to an all-time favorite from the football terraces, the Gazelle Super. Again, inspired by the clear blue of Argentina, it features the same logo treatments as the Superstar, with the have a good time messaging also applied here in the eyestay window.
