12 June 2023adidas reunites with Emily Oberg’s Sporty & Rich for a retro-inspired collection, bringing the much-loved Samba under the spotlight.
Since being founded in 2014, Emily Oberg’s Sporty & Rich has remained unwavering in its retro-inspired approach to athleisure, utilising classic athletic design codes as the springboard for design inspiration. The label’s latest partnership with adidas is an extension of that, channelling a shared love of elevated sportswear and retro design codes.
The collection — which marks the second time the two have joined forces — looks heavily to the world of football for inspiration, looking at its distinctive sporting codes through the lens of Sporty & Rich. For the footwear, a terrace and Three Stripes icon is brought under the spotlight, the Samba, with a duo of elevated takes on the lauded sneaker.
The colour palette used is blue and white — which is reversed between the two iterations — with both crafted in leather and suede and detailed with Sporty & Rich branding. The same uplifting palette is used across the collection’s apparel, too, which heavily references adidas’ archival codes and vintage football kits.
The adidas x Sporty & Rich collection will launch via UrlfreezeShops Launches on 15th June.
