Rewind to the mid-1940s, Alexander Girad experimented with a series of abstract sculptures made of a variety of materials, including an avian figure carved by hand out of wood from an apple tree. Fast forward to the present, Vitra has brought the bird back to life in the form of a bookend. Place it on it's feet or tail, this solid maple figure will look great on the shelf (books or no books).
