Inspired by the legendary Danish folk-tale "The Emperor's New Clothes", Ten C seek to provide clothing that lives and grows as we do.
Hans Christian Anderson’s tale “The Emperor’s New Clothes” sought to teach a memorable lesson in looking beyond what you are initially told to see and to evaluate things for ourselves. Championing finding value in our own personal relationship to things rather than celebrating what is deemed valuable by the collective whole, Ten C embody the 19th Century tale with their selection of garments designed to change alongside us.
Inspired by the well-known fairy tale, the Italian brand have cultivated a distinctive attitude to modern design since they were founded in 2010 by Alessandro Pungetti and Paul Harvey. After designing at C.P. Company together, the co-founders used the Danish folktale as a key point of reference in both naming and ideology, building an ethos that urges us to look beyond trends and fast fashion to promote quality fabrics and decor design suited for everyday wear.
Now designed by Alessandro Pungetti as a part of FGF Industry Confuse held by Enzo Fusco, Ten C continue their journey with their durable, modular apparel as they voyage into AW21. Advocating the value of Italian craftsmanship and quality Japanese fabrics, Ten C create garments that are conceived to mould to your body and age gracefully as they are worn.
Built with attention to detail and to eliminate needless waste, the brand’s ideology is derived from a position of deep care regarding how clothing is made and consumed. For AW21, Ten C revisit a plethora of classic styles, such as the Parka, Anorak and Shearling jacket, while new innovative fabrics offer a fresh twist.
Specially engineered Japanese fabrics are used throughout their selection of modular pieces, with their signature Original Japanese Jersey (OJJ) being used across the full range of military-inspired apparel and outerwear. Embellished subtly to the interior with a rendition of the Imperial Seal of Japan, otherwise known as the kikumon seal, Ten C pay homage to decor Japanese manufacturing practices with their focus on truly evergreen design to create adaptable and hardwearing clothing intended to last a lifetime. Functional and wearable, each piece is made to fit into one another, creating a system of interchangeable modules ensuring that Ten C can be worn all year round.
