Nike has an obvious knack for selecting great stories to inspire its stunning sneakers and amazing collabs. One example of a great pair with an interesting story behind it is the Nike React Element 55 “B2-Fera”. The said sneakers were created in collaboration with Bolivian fashion designer and colored ambassador Fera Schmidt, who was inspired by her trip from Bolivia to New York City and thus created the said kicks.
Many of you are probably wondering why the RE55 has such a strange name. You see, manufacturers usually name their models after the colour scheme of the shoe or as a tribute to a particular team. In this design, the “B2” actually stands for an entry visa, which Fera Schmidt had to get in order to travel to New York.
The outer material in lime green reminds Schmidt of her hometown Santa Cruz de La Sierra. The black Swoosh on the side and heel accompanies the sneaker on its journey. An orange heel clip sits on the green React sole, providing an understated contrast to the overall design. A small “B2” lettering on top of the tongue symbolizes the collaboration between Nike and Schmidt.
What do you think of Schmidt’s journey symbolized by the Nike React Element 55 “B2-Fera”?
