What makes the Nike Air Jordan a legend? Was it because it was one of the first sports shoes to make it out of the gym to be worn as a street shoe? Or was it the way “the Jordan” allowed Nike to end the supremacy of Converse and adidas in the NBA? Also, quite possibly, could it also be the soft-sprung shoe that has been gaining new fans for over 30 years with countless colourways, special series, and retro versions? Or, could it be that rare models at auctions reach prices that are otherwise only appropriate in the art market?

It doesn’t matter anyway! It’s simply fun to have a part of this legend yourself. On Cheap Urlfreeze Air Jordans Outlet sales online.com, you can find all new releases to buy a new pair of Nike Air Jordan!

Nike Air Jordan Story – He Flies and Flies and Flies…

The Nike Air Jordan story is the story of incredible success. When Nike signed Michael Jordan in 1984, who was only 21 years old at the time, this success was hardly foreseeable. Jordan was just at the beginning of his career—a talent but not a star. He himself would have preferred to sign a contract with adidas, as the Three Stripes brand was simply more popular in the mid ‘80s. It was $440,000 for advertising plus a percentage of the sales finally converted Michael Jordan. Thirty years later, the former NBA star often earns more with the shoe and clothing line named after him in a single year than in his entire career as an athlete (Here’s to you, “dealmaker” Trump—that’s what WE call a DEAL!).

Even before the first Nike Air Jordan could be bought in 1985, Michael Jordan caused a minor scandal in 1984. The colourway of the Nike Air Ship (the original version of the Nike Air Jordan), with which he competed for his Chicago Bulls team, was a combination of bright red and black (the team colours). Only the Swoosh and outsoles were white. At the time, this was considered a real colour crime, and only white shoes were allowed on the pitch. This much attention actually helped the collab between Jordan and Nike, not to exclude the fact that the scandal was planned a bit. Since then, Live a Nike Air Jordan instantly became a hobby for all those who wanted to be trendy from 1985 onwards.

With Every Nike Air Jordan You Buy a Piece of Design History

The Air Jordan 11 Low "Black Tiffany" Custom Touch The Sky was sold between 1985 and 1986. The first retro model was released in 1994, and then the next between 2001 and 2004. And, since 2007, Nike has released an AJ I retro every year. While the AJ I was designed by Peter C. Moore, Bruce Kilgore also helped design the succeeding AJ II model. To give the high-top sneaker a luxurious touch, the Air Jordan 11 Low "Black Tiffany" Custom Touch The SkyI was made in Italy, thus the nickname, “Italian Stallion”. Thanks to the integration of the Nike Air bubble in the sole, the sneakers feel even softer than the AJ I. Due to the great success, Nike also decided to do without the trademark Swoosh completely. In marketing, such a renouncement entails supreme discipline. The highlight was in fact quite successful. Since then, the Air Jordan had long merged with the Nike brand in the sneakerheads’ minds.

The Air Jordan 11 Low "Black Tiffany" Custom Touch The SkyII was created by design legend Tinker Hatfield and came out on the market in 1988. It was just perfect timing because it was when Michael Jordan was considering  whether he should switch his Air brand to another manufacturer or not. Hatfield’s Air Jordan 11 Low "Black Tiffany" Custom Touch The SkyII was the one that convinced him to stay with Nike.

With the AJ IV, the Air Jordan finally became a global brand. The model was also designed by Tinker Hatfield and was first marketed worldwide. In addition, several colourways appeared for the very first time. Since then, at least one new Nike Air Jordan model has been released almost every year. Tinker Hatfield was afterwards joined by Dwyane Wade and Jason Mayden as designers, so the Nike Air Jordan is now available in almost every shape and colour combination. Last but not the least, Nike continues to spice up the hype around the same line in the sneaker scene with special releases like the “Defining Moments” series.

Some of the Best Nike Air Jordan Releases So Far

As already mentioned, the Jordan brand is a brand with such a great history. There are in fact dozens of different Air Jordan models and each model has been released in many different colourways. Yet, over the past 30+ years, some remarkable highlights have emerged that no sneaker collection should ever be without. We have summarized our five personal best Air Jordan releases so far:

#5 – Nike Air Jordan Retro XI “Space Jam”

This is the shoe that first appeared in the world famous movie “Space Jam” and one that has reached cult status since its release. Its first major release was in 2000, with a major re-release in 2016. Since then, the shoe has been consistently added to the sneaker collection of some sneakerheads.

#4 – Nike Air Jordan “White/BlackRed”

This is a very strange story: Michael Jordan and the NBA were actually at war with each other several times during his active years. This Air Jordan was the. Air Jordan’s answer to the NBA’s punishment for banning his original black/white Jordans from the field because they were simply too black.

#3 – Nike Air Jordan “White Cement”

This was first released in 1988 and it was one of the first shoes to blur the line between streetwear and sportswear. It was also one of the first Jordans to achieve overall commercial success, making it the first Jordan for many (new) sneaker fans.

#2 – Nike Air Jordan “Black Cement”

This is the same shoe that was designed by none other than Tinker Hatfield himself, and which has probably helped Nike and MJ keep the relationship going to this day. This shoe is considered a huge milestone in sneaker culture and is still one of the shoes that best keeps the balance between tech and style.

#1 Nike Air Jordan “Bred”

This shoe is the original—the OG—in “Black/Red” colourway and the very first Jordan ever released. This shoe was in fact the beginning of a brand that still has millions of fans around the world. Because of this, the “Bred” is considered to be one of the best sneaker releases to date.
