The tradition of energy generation from coal is on the decline. This is certainly desirable from an environmental point of view, but every structural change also leaves its mark on society. The German fashion label dedicates its fashion to the great tradition of mining and aims to remind those who, over the years and decades and with considerable deprivation, have obtained the once irreplaceable raw material from the depths. Grubenhelden continues to use worn Bergmann clothing to manufacture new textiles with great success and even made it to the New York Fashion Week with its upcycled products. With its environmentally friendly production principles and its traditional values Grubenhelden appears to be the ideal partner for KangaRoos »Made in Germany« line. The KangaROOS x Grubenhelden Pawer unites tradition, progress and timeless sneaker style!

The »Pawer« has a mint-colored outsole to symbolize the slippers of those working underground. The speckled midsole points to the cabbage dust that came off the buddies' heads while showering. The black leather parts represent the hard work in the mountain.The lining consists of miners' shirts. On a heel embossing you can see flails and irons, the symbols of mining par excellence. A pocket contains the text of the Steigerlied, which was traditionally sung on the way underground. A piece of hard coal as well as a enclosed key ring and a pair of mint-colored socks are also included with each box. The Lacetag with the »1449« symbolizes the year of birth of Georgius Agricola (Georg Bauer, called »Pawer«) and is the ultimate homage to the German miners.
