Early Access – December 17th
Early Access starts before the public sale with 20,000 tokens reserved for owners of adidas Originals POAP, gmoney POAPs, BAYC/MAYC NFTs and all Pixel Vault NFTs. Wallet Snapshots for Early Access were taken on December 14th, 2021.
General Release of the “Into the Metaverse” NFT – December 17th
Don’t own an adidas Originals POAP or Partner NFT? No problem! You can still get an Into the Metaverse NFT now. At least 9,620 NFTs will be reserved for the General Release. The General Release will remain open until the last NFT is sold. adidas and its partners will keep 380 NFTs scheduled for later events.
Welcome aboard
Do you own an Into the Metaverse NFT? If so, you’ll now have access to experiences in the virtual land, and until 2022, you’ll also receive free merch, including a Printed Hoodie and an adiColor Firebird tracksuit, as featured in the PUNKS comic.
The “Into the Metaverse” NFT drop will take place on December 17th at adidas.com/metaverse. The time is unfortunately still unknown.
Update 16.12.2021
On December 17th, you should keep an eye on adidas CONFIRMED and the adidas website as adidas and partners launch the NFT collection with Bored Ape Yacht Club, Pixel Vault’s Punks Comic and Gmoney called “Into the Metaverse”. Tareq Nazlawy, Adidas’ senior director of digital growth told The Verge:
“Adidas is in the metaverse. We want to figure out what would be the dopest thing to do in that space and start involving the communities we’re activating through this [NFT] in how we should manifest in the virtual world.”
The “Into the Metaverse” collection grants buyers access to an exclusive fan club. Owners of the NFTs can then get special apparel such as the tracksuit worn by Indigo, a hoodie with a blockchain address on it and an orange beanie for free.
In addition, adidas is offering the exclusive members of the fan club a kind of “co-determination right”. How this will work precisely is still unclear, but NFT holders will have a say in what kind of digital and physical products adidas puts together for the new NFT community.
Sneakerheads may be familiar with a similar exclusiveness from adidas. Through adidas CONFIRMED, the label is dropping coveted Yeezys that only a select few are granted access to. With “Into the Metaverse”, adidas offers a new way to get even more exclusive clothes, sneakers or other items.
Whether the new function and the NFTs from the new collection will be well received is not yet clear, but resellers are hoping for hyped pieces that can be sold for significantly more money. The NFTs (Non-fungible Tokens) will drop on Friday, December 17th and will cost 0.2 ETH (approx. $800), according to adidas.

Last night, new posts surfaced on Instagram and Twitter revealing a four-way collaboration with adidas, Bored Ape Yacht Club, Pixel Vault’s Punks Comic, and crypto-investor Gmoney. No details were given except for previews of the images, but followers of the respective accounts are incredibly hyped.
