Converse Chuck Taylor – Metallica Pack – July ’09

You would have a tough time making the argument that Metallica isn’t the biggest heavy metal act of all-time. Since they first burst onto the scene in the early 80’s, Metallica has been doing it heavier, faster and more brilliantly than pretty much any of their peers. Almost 30 years later, they are still making great music and their fan base is still as ravenous as ever. With all the incredible imagery that has blessed Metallica’s album covers and t-shirts over the years, someone has finally decided to apply some to some kicks.

As part of their musical collaboration series, Converse will be releasing two new Chuck Taylor All-Stars that feature some of Metallica’s iconic artwork. One pair is graced by the electrified Metallica logo wall the cover of their classic Low Rise Jeans & Converse album. The other Metallica Chuck Taylor features some lesser known Pushead artwork. A twisted voodoo doll skull illustration covers the side of the white shoe and in a cool addition, the graphics extend all the way down to the bottom of the midsole. Both pairs will be released on July 1st on the Converse site, as well as at select retailers.
