Mr. Cartoon is front and center of the sneaker game at the moment, but don’t forget that Nike Sportswear picked him to work on the LIVESTRONG ‘Greatest Hits’ Pack because of his deep history.
It all started back in spring of 2005, with a spiderwebbed Air Force 1 Low Hyperstrike and a followup Quickstrike to satisfy those who couldn’t get the ultra-limited earlier release. These joints were so well received, the Animated One got back up with Nike on a Cinco de Mayo-themed AF1. The ‘Brown Pride’ AF1 Lows dropped in Fall 2005 with less fanfare, borrowing the colourscheme from his Hyperstrikes and the flowy etchings from the QS version.
Around the same time came a pack of Authentic ‘S’ from Vans Syndicate, featuring a sad clown on the side panel of three clean designs. Off the Wall brought him back in ’07 for two entries in their promotions for Nike Introduces the Air Sesh Shoe For Dancers, and again for his own pack of Sk8-His. Take a look at this trip through time in its entirety, after the jump. via Complex
