Two-thousand and nine has been a great year for Nike, especially sweet for devotees of the Nike retro. The Air Max 95 and Air Griffey Max 1 were both absolute hits, and other releases like the Air Pegasus 89 were a pleasure to those with an affinity toward classic Air. With 2010 looming right around the corner, we can only hope what Nike has in store for us…or we can take a look at some spy shots, provided by 1C3M4M of Niketalk.
Pictures tell a thousand words, but there may not be enough to describe the excitement over the release of what appears to be two more original Air Max 95 colorways, the Comets and the Slates. A curious pair of neon orange 95s and the classic neon greens are visible as well. In addition to the 95s, a red-silver-black colorway of the Air Max 97 and number of other color combos of the Air Max 2009 look to be slated for 2010 as well. Other samples that cannot be overlooked are the nike air max 90 ultra br midnight navy in a white/red colorway, the Shox R4 (the original Shox runner) with what looks to be equipped with Flywire technology, the Pippen I in a white-navy color scheme, and the Hyperize in a white-navy color way.
Perhaps the most eye-popping sighting is of the Nike Air Griffey Max GD II sitting inconspicuously among all the others attention-grabbers. These would be a worthy sophomore effort for the Griffey line that came back with a bang in 2009. An uber-sleek design combined with full-length Air will make these true retros a must-have for Griffey fans. If a Griffey Max GD II retro is a reality, I guess Urlfreeze News was a step ahead. Will 2010 live up to what 2009 was?
